RODDIN' and RACIN' in Mesa, AZ

Phil and his buddy Mike were at the Roddin' and Racin' Meet-Up in Mesa tonight. All of these classic car owners meet up every Saturday evening in the parking lot of K-Mart to check each others car out. There are also people who don't own classic cars who come out to admire them as well. Some times, they go cruisin' down Main St. in Mesa. This was the first meet-up that Phil has been to, but in an earlier posting from the fall I showed off Mike's car when they went out for a drive on a Saturday afternoon.

My Apron Arrived!

My beautiful new apron, in retro print, arrived in the mail on Friday. When mom and dad were out to AZ in March, we picked up the fabric and mom took it back to MI to make. The apron got in line with all of her other projects, but some how I think she pushed something aside to get this out to me. Thanks mom, I love it! I tried to get Phil to take a nice pic of me and the apron, but for some reason, he was having problems with Photo Shop and couldn't remove some extra poundage!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a very nice Mother's Day today! It started off pretty early (7am) with Missy @ IHOP for breakfast. We wanted to avoid the rush, and at that time we certainly did! We came back to our house where Mike joined us around noon or so. I got three beautiful cards, roses from Phil and perfume from Mike. We watched movies all afternoon and for dinner, Mike went and got Panda Express.

Phil finished his project pretty much on Friday, so yesterday we had to rent the carpet shampooer for the family room carpet. What a mess! The house is pretty much back together but I'm sure we'll be finding white powder for some time to come. The niche looks so open now, we're really pleased with the way it turned out. Mike is wanting a niche at his house now, so Phil offered to help him with it. However, Missy heard that offer and said "no way Dad!!!, not until you fix my dishwasher". The dishwasher has been on the fritz for probably 9 months at the condo. Sort of like, out of sight-out of mind! The dishwasher will be Phil's next project.

Busy Saturday!

This morning Phil started on a new project. He is
re-proportioning his spaces in the entertainment niche. I took drapes down, covered furniture with sheets, moved nick knacks, raised all blinds and shut all bedrooms doors before he started cutting into the drywall. There is a layer of fine white dust all over and he hasn't put new drywall up yet and sanded. What a mess!

After I moved everything, I left Phil to his project and I went to meet up with a friend of mine. It was Sadie's birthday the first part of the week so we met this morning for an early movie ( Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) and lunch afterwards. I hadn't seen Sadie since she visited Missy in the hospital. We had a great time and saw previews of some more movies that we would like to see. Neither one of us had been to shows that early before but thought that it worked out quite well.
